The Passion of The Christ
Incredible! Unbelievable! I'm speechless. The most powerful movie I have ever seen. Dare I say inspired by God? Definitely!
I have to say, I'm not only disappointed by the accusations of the movie being anti-Semitic, but that I flabbergasted that anyone could make such a statement. I was leery about making any statements against this opinion (though I had many) until after I had seen the movie. I am more convinced now that that is a complete fabrication. Jesus came and represented himself as the King of the Jews and they persecuted him for that. I mean imagine if someone came to you and told you that they were the leader, the god, the king of your religion. If you didn't believe it, you'd probably be outraged at such a claim. If this person threatened your position, surely you'd try to stop him, or even remove him. Yes, the crowd of Jews wanted his blood. He threatened to undermine everything they believed to be true, but it was the Romans who inflicted the most physical damage, and ultimately crucified Jesus. Regardless of your religious beliefs, this is supported by historical record. Mexico hadn't even been discovered yet, so it couldn't have been the Mexicans that sent Jesus to his death. It actually had to be those who were around and with him. That just makes sense. For goodness sakes, Christ WAS A JEW!!!! If anything else, having the Son of God come from the Jewish Ancestry is awesome. I don't know what else to say but, HOGWASH!
Regardless of whether or not you believe he is or was the Messiah, I suggest you see the movie (if you can stomach a man being tortured). To me, it was the representation of a man who loved so much that he not only took, but accepted pain and misery, and I don't know a human on earth who would or could handle the same persecution.

Didn't you study history? The Romans were ruthless against their enemies! Crucifixion was a long slow death and if you realy screwed up, you were lucky cause they tortured you before hand which was better in the long run, death came quicker. 99% of all criminals that were crucified were not nailed to a cross, rather they were tied up to it and they hung for several days and sometimes weeks before death came. What an ingenious way to make an example of someone and for the rest of the society that you conquered to conform and not to break the law! Humanity, what a concept!
