Fricken Thing Aint Workin
I been trying now for sometime to get my blog to not only ping weblogs.com but also to be listed there showing it's been updated. Now, today I'm trying to get myself listed correctly on blogshares.com. I'm not sure if I'm having a problem because my IP contains a port number or not. I'm not sure exactly what to do yet but this blog entry is more of a test entry and maybe someone has had this same problem as well. Who knows! or rather, Who knows?

I have read that people have been having intermittent problems pinging weblogs.com lately. They (weblogs.com) have recently moved their html results page from a 1 minute refresh to a 5 minute refresh, which would lead me to believe that they have been having issues with server load. People have had some success increasing the amount of time that MT waits for a ping response. This can be accomplished by adding the line
PingTimeout #
to your mt.cfg file. The default value of # is 15, many have been putting in a value of 60.
As for Blogshares, I am not even sure the creators of the system know when the blogs get indexed. A friend of mine has been waiting for a couple of weeks to be indexed. Nothing yet. Meanwhile, I have syrocketed from a value of $500 to nearly $7,000,000 in the same amount of time. Go me. :)
